dioramarama official e-diorama
hey everyone, HBML is hosting a shoebox diorama exhibit in february 2007. depending on how many we get they will either be on display on the wall in the store or in the windows facing out. if you want to make a diorama for the show, let’s do it! full info…

  • no combustible or very smelly materials
  • it’s unclear how these will be displayed, possibly behind glass, so avoid interactive displays
  • please use an enclosure the dimensions of a regular shoebox
  • all dioramas should be side- and not top-view
  • batteries ok, wall plugs no
  • all dioramas due january 20th, drop off or mail to the store.
  • if you want to incorporate a transparent window in the back of your diorama, we will have a display area that will be backlit
  • really glue everything down solid- if something falls we won’t know how to put it back together- we are idiots.
  • we will be accepting a limited number of x-rated dioramas, which will be displayed behind a curtain.
  • please drop an email if you are working on this, so i can send accurate press releases.
  • yeah!

  3. For my own benefit, and everyone else’s, are they required to sit horizontally, or can they sit vertically like a coffin (I’m not making a coffin)?

  6. […] i let this diorama thing become a hassle, in that i’ve extended the deadline too many times (all the way to tomorrow), and i started to take it personally when people didn’t come through. anyway i realize this is counterproductive (to feel this way), so i’m working on a new tactic for next time- strict rules and cash prizes. i don’t know what the next big collaborative community project is going to be, but i want to do another, and do better publicity beforehand, and all that. any ideas on what this next project might be, drop me a line.
