xander marro is a pal of ours from providence who makes these great movies, plus silkscreen posters and zines and stuff. the silkscreen scene in providence is pretty epic with one-upsmanship, at first, xander would only make prints that had moving parts, now all her shit is fuzzy like a black light poster. anyway these movies are both moving and fuzzy. people ask me all the time what they are and i tell them that they were made by a woman who is a total package, and if they like the art on the box they’ll like the movie. when further pressured i would say (with total respect and complete admiration) that her style is like a cross between a twisted victorian child and a wasted old lady. these rasputin dolls pictured have real hair, and holes where the legs are that you can poke your fingers through for the illusion that he is dancing. see, fuzzy + moving!

i bought my brother a couple of these for christmas, he reports that the DVD was completely bizarre and awesome. no word yet on the tape i picked out, apparently we don’t have a VCR around here.
