this friday the 18th of january, HBML is having an art opening featuring paintings by worcester artiste seah chickering-burchesky. we will be also be selling aloe juice and eating saltines. the event is from 5 to 8.

yup, the store got hit by a car. luckily no windows broke, no one got mangled.

this saturday (the 12th) from 2 to 5, we’re doing another silk screening day at the store, which is an event in which you bring in a clothing item (or buy something at the shop) and we silk screen the day’s image on it. saturday the image is going to be a drawing of the (or a) mighty coyote, scavenger, trickster, wild dog. we will be using black ink, so bring in something light in color. if you’re just bringing in fabric for a back patch or something, bring something at least a foot wide and a foot and a half tall (just to be safe). and give me your suggestions for what the next image should be! and no, i’m not interested in repeating past designs (a zombie, godzilla, roy orbison, the crimson ghost).

and yes, i realize that this is the second coyote backpatch design we’ve made. so what.

dudes, mike benedetti made a serious power play in the squid raffle, picking up $100 worth of tickets just by himself. meanwhile, western mass is still pushing with several members of a single household going for it. the raffle closes on the 19th, it’s still anyone’s game, and we are still miles away from our goal of $400. let’s make this happen! tickets are $5 for 6 or $10 for 14. squid raffle squid raffle squid raffle!!!!!!!

aiden duffy is froma famous clan of red heads here in worcester, he came in a while ago and unloaded a mess of marvel new universe and planet terry comics, then a few weeks ago he came in with this, which we were, needless to say, way more psyched on. in this first issue anger man fights the skirmisher. i guess in the second issue (which is still in progress, says aiden), he fights satan. going directly to satan on only the second issue is a pretty ballsy move, but i’m pretty excited to see where it’ll go.
