like it or not, the school year is starting up again soon, and what better way to show the appropriate amount of respect than by wearing a nice necktie? i made a bunch of these ties, all with this hand-screened design, on a variety of existing nice plainish neckties in assorted colors. the design is just a design, it doesn’t say anything. don’t try to figure it out.

incidentally, this tie is painted in a style developed by my friend jeremy’s grandfather, irving baker. thanks irving!

every week or so i paint everything on this shelf a different color, trying to figure out which is the color that sells the best. so far it isn’t lavender, bright green, sky blue, or mint. the shoes look pretty sweet though– right after i painted these i painted my own:

so, last saturday, in celebration of our expanded clothing room, we had an open call fashion shoot at the store. little andrew set up hot lights, backdrops, and berets, and even though it was raining really hard, a good crowd of folks came out to participate, picking out excellent outfits and struttin’ they stuff. i’ll be dishing them out over the next few days…
