ok, so we had to call the first day of shooting (wednesday) a wash, because our green screen was pretttttttty busted, but that’s ok because only sarah a showed up (and mike benedetti and jbruce, but they don’t count). yesterday (thursday) morning i went out and got “the good paint” and turned the back room into a nice little studio, and everything came together. lots of people showed up and we got a good ways into the episode. well, almost past the first scene. i’ve watched the dailies, it’s hilarious. today from 4 to 8, saturday 2 to 5, come on down!!!!!!!

HBML had lots of fun tabling at the crafts fair “start in the park” yesterday! here’s me and pogo flashing signals– heavy reppin w/ no half-steppin. more pictures after the cut–

so, last saturday, in celebration of our expanded clothing room, we had an open call fashion shoot at the store. little andrew set up hot lights, backdrops, and berets, and even though it was raining really hard, a good crowd of folks came out to participate, picking out excellent outfits and struttin’ they stuff. i’ll be dishing them out over the next few days…

yup, the store got hit by a car. luckily no windows broke, no one got mangled.

pictures by mike benedetti. thanks mike!
we did four devillock haircuts and one mohawk, and screened tons of t-shirts (in equal amounts of crimson ghost and roy orbison). and the store was PACKED! plus we raised $43 for a great community project i kind of can’t talk about right no on the internet! thanks everyone for coming out! pictures forthcoming.
last week these guys (both of whom are harry potter) played a show at the store, and brought hot chocolate for everyone too! it was pretty sweet, although i must say that everyone there was into it way more than me (everyone else being way into it). i never read the books, and because of my thing against british children i only saw the first movie (and the brilliant wizard people, dear reader). anyway i still liked it so that says a lot. for some reason i neglected to get cds from them but i will when harry potter b swipes me into the college cafeteria soon (right joe?).

today a reporter and photographer from worcester magazine (the local free weekly) came in to do an article on the place. the photographer had a hard time finding any one thing to take a picture of and then had to leave the store because the sheer quantity of things to look at was giving him a headache. i hope that gets into the article! i sent them a bunch of stuff from the old mission statement and FAQ, but i think it’s all just going to add up to me looking like a full madman. in other words, quite the part. look for it next week, immediately preceding my store getting banned by the PTA (just like hoverboards!).
charlene, don’t write about the bad stuff box!
